Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation awards $100,000 grant

The Center gets its first major grant to report on government integrity and issues affecting the quality of life in Wisconsin.

IRS approves Center’s request for tax-exempt status

Just in time for Tax Day, the Internal Revenue Service has approved the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism’s request for exemption from federal income tax.
The ruling, dated April 6, means that the Center is a public charity and that contributions to it are tax-deductible.

Center sponsors investigative journalism workshop

Print, broadcast, online and student journalists from around the state are being invited to The Better Watchdog Workshop, presented by Investigative Reporters and Editors, in Madison on May 9 and 10.
