Republican legislators want hearings into travel by Doyle, others

Republican members of the Legislature's Joint Audit Committee are asking for hearings on travel by state elected officials.

The request was made in response to a story by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism and a University of Wisconsin-Madison reporting class that found Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat, did not provide receipts for travel expenses nearly three-fourths of the time in 2007 and 2008. State travel policy requires that receipts be provided for charges made on state credit cards. Read the Journal Sentinel's update.
